Strictly speaking with my accountants head on your right but …. Were farmers and if everything was done as the accountant would …. Sold up years ago 😂
Did quite a bit of Health & Safety training with a training and enterprise council, and I remember the tutor telling us one day, every company run by accountants goes bust!

Well what set me off was they sent the renewal in to close to renewal date and no other companies had enough time to quote !!!
My insurance broker did that the last two years, last year I was ready for them, I contacted brokers for quotes. Come renewal time exactly Five days the renewal came through. an increase of about 20 percent. I ignored then and the day before they [honed me to tell me I needed to renew it right now, told them they were too late and that i had renewed two days before they had sent the renewal to me, They were very unhappy with me about not giving them a chance. I told them they hadn,t given me much time to get another quote.
The moral of the story is do not leave it to the last minute, know what you are insuring and have quotes before the renewal arrives. The current game from the insurance companies is to send out the renewals as late as possible and not give enough time to get other quotes, beat the barstewards at their own game, be prepared.

I hate this approach of not giving the client enough time and forcing them to renew. Ask for a 14 day extension to renewal date if you only get renewals 7 days or so before renewal. The reason you do not get renewals on time is generally incompetence on the part of Insurance companies who are not capable of getting paperwork out on time- as a company it is one of the biggest problems we face. If a client requests more time to consider renewal from us we will almost certainly provide it.

It was only on reading this thread that I knew you get an extension to an insurance policy, thanks,

Our local one was Farmway we did a lot of business with them years ago they were really good very competitive. Not had much to do with MV but some of the prices quoted are very dear.
