Tine or chain harrow

have lot of grass maintenance work to do on some land here next year. Outside of what's earmarked for reseeding was thinkinvof a grass harrow to try and pull up dead grass & maybe broadcaster to throw out some seed.
Had a tine harrow in mind but was wondering if worth the additional cost over a standard chain harrow in a frame? Or are chain harrows really not for this job..

Have had experience of a oldish set of opico tine harrows and was glad to see them go. I think they have improved now but the tines couldn't hack hard work and cracked and broke. Sold them with nearly a full set of tines for peanuts. Live and learn.

When you have pulled all the thatch out what do people do with it, it doesn't do a lot of good just sat on the surface, I've done some in the past and at the headlands when you lift up there is piles of it, I have before pulled it into a pile and loaded it into dump trailer with grab and dumped it.

I've had an Opico 6m for 10 years. It works well, has done some pretty hard work on stony ground. Haven't broken a single tine yet. Some could do with replacing though and getting worn down to the bend. It's very quick to use, quicker you drive, within reason, the better the job.

I went through a spell of breaking tines till realised they were all on the same outside section and the way I turned at the headland. Solution, pick it properly out of work before turning and haven't broken one since.

Does it make any difference?
If you missed a bit, would you notice it in 3 weeks?
I have no experience of them, but often wondered

Good question , I think it releases surface N, I did the opposite did 2 strokes up a field , wether it was a placebo affect or mirage or what I'm not sure but the harrowed area looked greener !

Sorry doesn't really answer your question
