Used an Einbock both in cereals and beans. Looks quite scary especially if done twice in quick succession but soon recovers and given a good dry day and sun eliminates the majority of weeds , including blackgrass.Hi
Looking in to the world of tined weeders and was wondering what success/experience people have had with them in all combinable crops.
It worries me that the chemical companies have too much money!
Cheers

Yes but not that often - Its an Einbock tined weeder and have used it in beans and cereals mainly to take out blackgrass seedlings. Does need to be dry though to kill properly. In an ideal world it should be front mounted as behind the wheels tends not to be touched. Even agronomist agreed that it was probably doing a better job than a chemical would do, and the cost of spraying the first field we did would buy the weeder! Don't look behind you though, especially if you double do it in the opposite direction but will recover well and probably does aid tillering.Morning All
Radar, are you still using mechanical weeding? if so what and how?
Does anyone else have any other comments?
I'm thinking of trying it in spring crops and possibly undersowing in the same pass with a seed mix for grazing sheep post harvest
Thanks for the reply Simonk88.Tried it here, worked in WW in the right conditions, tried in spring barley too and was a revelation! Can miss out pre-em and Avadex on SB and use the tined harrow instead
