Hi
Had a bit of lice last winter and i think with the risk of injectables not being efficient considering dipping this year Up to 3k sheep perhaps. We do buy sheep in . Are there many contractors out there(Powys) for mobile. Or any plans for set ups which comply with strict rules. The latter something i would like some views on licences disposal etc/ webpage??

Thanks we are a fair way away. Was wondering what regs are around a new build also and anybody put one up recently and can advise

I don’t think the regs are too tight on the set up, more on the disposal of dip afterwards. If the dip and draining pens contain the dip adequately, then your laughing I’d have thought.
Disposal rules (& licence costs) seem to be getting ramped up in recent years.

Just put one in. Struggling to find a waste company that will take away, not bothered about the cost to keep leagal anyone know one that will dispose of used dip?

Has the licence price gone up like the environment agency were talking? Do you have to reapply yearly or is it for life?
Hi this is direct from the EA !

Our new charges have increased for new permits to £2708 this is recognised as being significant but reflects the polluting naturar of the discharges. The complexity of statutory and technical permitting process. Ultimately we have to ensure the products don't enter ground and surface waters and the practice needs to be safe for environment and public alike.

The new susistance charge for there after for every year a permit is required is as follows, less than 5m3 per annum (working straight volume)£273 with above 5m3 per annum £971

However there are some situations were farmers may have multiple permits or volumes that don't reflect there practice or needs. These farmers may end up paying multiple permits or the higher charges so we are looking at ways to manage this given that under the new scheme permit reviews are also chargeable at 30%-60%or 90%the full fee depending on whether they are minor, normal or substantial variations.

Hope that helps

We do cover Wales if it's any interest to you .
I know disposal in Wales is a nightmare I have been working with EA Wales and the Welsh Dee Trust over the last few months as they asked me about it and the problems relating to disposing of it.

We want to dip after shearing aprox 1500 sheep mainly as we have lice but with bot sheep want to cover everything. We will have to use mobile now but may invest in permanent in future. Does your business take dip away or do i have to have a licence to dispose on farm. Lost faith with por ons and injectables after buying store lambs last year and not getting the results suggested on the " box"
