Very sad for them but at least one of those isn't a covid death.

I can't do what I like though - Masks are mandatory and from 1st Jan anyone without 3 jabs will be unvaxxed
I don't see how the boosters are going to be done quick enough the way its reported to be spreading.

shutting the schools early for Christmas would be a simple good call , if i get it from them i think ill consider suing :rolleyes:or something i work on my own and there's no one else to cover for me.

As before it seems to slow a reaction they fiddle while Rome burns.

just a mask aint gonna stop this one:sick:

To be honest the rest of the world appears not be losing their sh!t over omnicrom - and as one mp said today it looks like Boris is basically creating a straw man for him to be able to knock down and divert all the other stuff going on. The rush for boosters is ridiculous its just not proportionate - fair enough I can see why people may want to do a lateral flow on xmas eve even if it is a bit overhyped.

There is no evidence it is worse than any other variant and a decent bit of evidence it is milder..

I wouldn't mind a sporting bet omnicrom will diminish next week as people get a bit tired of pcr testing again. And remember we are making laws based on daft omnicrom predictions next week!

I would say the reasons are, shortage of beds in hospitals, but mainly a chronic shortage of staff and funding in social care which creates bed blocking. Another little gem is the A&E 4 hour rule, if doctors think they won't be able get a patient seen and test results back in time they tend to admit them instead. Also hospital doctors timesheets are a bizarre joke that only a computer could devise, supposedly to make things exactly fair. But involves days on and off and start and finish times being totally different on each shift. :banghead:

Maybe your investigation should edge towards what masks do in the context of this pandemic. They have a positive effect in reducing droplet travel. Every little bit of reduction helps curb the virus so we can return to normal activities ~ especially where ventilation is good.

Expecting instant surgical sterility of action in a real world where we all need to get on with life as best we can despite the virus is unrealistic, and was from the outset of these quibbles from particular quarters. It's boring, nobody likes wearing them, but they help. End of.
Good video here.

So masks are nothing more than a face ornament

I’m so fricking done with masks it’s unreal. No one is fussed we are doing it out of politeness for others who are doing it out of politeness of us but no one is really wanting to do it al all. Honestly if I had to work in a covid aware environment I’d have gone mad by now

Interesting that they are saying masks won't be needed in schools.

Actually the government advice for secondary schools is they recommend them. They are not mandatory. This applies to teachers. Once this was pointed out, most of the children at my sons' secondary took theirs off.

So saying they won't be needed.....when they're already not needed.

I went into a shop without one. They wouldn't serve me. So I bought it next door. Makes no difference to me.
