Moved some cows to another field to join the bull. Guess who got left behind?
What did you do after dinner ?Not the best pic but got 225 acre of 2nd cut mowed, not a bad first proper outing with new mowers, even better considering I sprayed 125 acre of barley first thing.

What was it powering? Seems the slip clutch wasn't working. I would say the machining on the shaft was faulty as you can see splits at every corner of the profile.View attachment 531004

Was hard work tring to get the lambs through, must be the smell of the formalin. ewes go through no problem. Normally use golden hoof. Thanks, don't want to hold you up, but wouldn't mind seeing what you use there. Have had a bit of scald etc but only had a few hundred lambs so not hard to drag them out and dunk stinky feet in a jar must be a better system than that though, for my old age. I have a good wee race now, about 35 feet long and a good width for 3 lambs, ends on a concrete pad that I could use
how long do they need to stand in it?

Can get about 10 ewes in at a push, leave standing in for a few minutes while the next few are done then let the first lot out and refill and so on till their all done. It's just abit more of a job with the lambs.
Clean water wash, before it got filled, took this out this time, had to pull nearly every bloody lamb though itView attachment 535430

The reflection on the water to a lamb will look like a big deep hole.
Good point, goin to have a change round for the next lot.
And back to golden hoof
We always put a small handful of straw in the bath to stop the reflection.Good point, goin to have a change round for the next lot.
