What was it powering? Seems the slip clutch wasn't working. I would say the machining on the shaft was faulty as you can see splits at every corner of the profile.

I can see a little rust on that break, it's been gradually breaking. What was it doing before it went on the baler?

Was hard work tring to get the lambs throughThanks, don't want to hold you up, but wouldn't mind seeing what you use there. Have had a bit of scald etc but only had a few hundred lambs so not hard to drag them out and dunk stinky feet in a jar

Normally use golden hoof.Can get about 10 ewes in at a push, leave standing in for a few minutes while the next few are done then let the first lot out and refill and so on till their all done. It's just abit more of a job with the lambs.
Clean water wash,before it got filled, took this out this time, had to pull nearly every bloody lamb though it

You have answered your own question as to why they wont go in with this pic.
The reflection on the water to a lamb will look like a big deep hole.
