Finally put some barley in the ground, soil has weathered nicely.View attachment 588446

Father turned in to plough the headlands. View attachment 588448 Clearly he enjoyed himself, as he offered to go and plough the next field.
View attachment 588466Soon caught him up. He said he'd had enough anyway, so he went home to milk while I went back on the plough. View attachment 588454
drilled all that's ploughed, there may be rain about:nailbiting:View attachment 588462
16 acres in only another 46 to go.
The more pictures of ploughing/combi drilling I see the more I realise how some people will never know what clay is.

Best not post pics of my sand. Rain last night and drilling again by dinner.

Had this on demo today. My Massey's 7626 sensor in the exhaust packed up on Friday. Thought I'd try the local deutz dealer(used to be MF), gave them a call on Saturday morning and the tractor arrived in the afternoon, on the way back from the local ploughing match! Good service I thought.
Got it till Wednesday. It's got a lot more knobs and buttons than my Massey!View attachment 588006 View attachment 588008 View attachment 588010 View attachment 588014
We had that on demo last week. No stereo, but at least they had got the auto steer sorted.
It's certainly a mean looking beast.

Some pretty scummy crossbreds in the background
Plus side is 11mm of rain, peas are starting to germinate, and pizza for tea.
