, it is running thorugh half a metre of drainage chalk though and i had just walked in the bottom of the dyke and stirred the silt up

Looks like it needs some attention over the wheels
I like a nice bit of 6mm plate under the boards, over the wheels, where you can’t get a crossmember, stops the boards punching through where they are largely unsupported.

I can see how that could be a problem - especially with your water company not wanting 'decaying' sheep in their reservoirs.

I think I'd rather weld it in, stick it between the crossmembers rather than on top, so it's flush, then you get the chance to weld it to the side rave , where it needs the strength the most.

Fantastic! Wonder if there is one to fit a MF, looks just the job. Think it could do with a beacon for safety though!
