The truck is sucking in air from somewhere. When i was taking the fuel lines off 1 of the pipes broke offThanks didn't see that ..........
Probably best to re-pipe the old one

Had the truck running perfectly from a jerry can. Something wrong between filter and tank. Its a 2004 hilux double cab. @ShovelhandsO dear that's not good .........

We'd throw a 20l chemical can in the deck as a test fuel tank. Run two pipes to the engine to see if the problem goes away? Work back connecting until it reappears.

Weres the bodgers!don't need that bit.I thought the sender has the float for the gauge? This has 2 pipes in and out of tank with a teabag filter thing on the bottom of 1 pipe.
The fuel line goes from metal to rubber to metal...... no wonder its sucking air so many joinsfuel pipes rusted ,had it on a shogun ,took a bit of finding
