All of us who farm on real soil, rather than a beach can hardly wait until the wind dries everything out enough. I am less than 40 miles from you I think and live very close to the part of Britain with the lowest rainfall.

Currently I am wondering how long it will be before I can even walk on this to see how dry it is and when I will be able to spray off the first flush of my 'cover crop' of blackgrass.

We have plenty like that also, the majority was drilled before the rain started luckily, the rest is still needed to be ploughed for beet which i predict will come off the boards like plasticine. It's not all a beach but when the weather is temperamental it's good to have bolt holes to be able to get on with something or everything needs doing in the same week
