Went for a wander to walk the fields today and took this photo of the ditch flowing. M5 drains flow directly into this ditch i believe.

Brought it home very much that it’s not just farmers who have an impact on water quality.

@Deerefarmer . Heres an even greater challenge. Leaf retention on canola hay. I highly doubt there would be many on here that have ever done it.

this was the stuff I baled back in late September/early October. The yellow bits are the flowers. Even harder to retain than the leaf. And yes, @RushesToo it smells bloody fantastic :hungry: :ROFLMAO: Its very easy to make a bale of sticks or moldy hot hay...

Alright sorry to hear that, it has been some time if I remember right, the drought that is. Live to fight another day I guess.
(I tried to keep up with the big australian thread aka farmer roys thoughts but it has become a bit to much virtue signalling and holier then thou for my liking. Or I am just an ignorant dick, who knows )

I wouldn't say you're an ignorant dick ?

The thread has changed tact somewhat and I kind of know what you mean.
It is a shame really, as it was a very interesting, diverse and enjoyable thread - but alas, things like this happen and I have come to accept this in my time, so wouldn't worry.

I also believe there is a lot on the ignore list now through opposing views and what appears to be not in the clique or having the expected knowledge to be worthy of opinions - which I believe is potentially helping the downturn of the thread.

Can never understand supposed adults using an ignore function personally, simply screams kindergarten to me, and having a little tantrum because one doesn't accept opposing / different views.

Fortunately there are still far more threads of interest to read etc, so the world will still turn, and night still runs over into day for a while yet. ?

Agree whole heartedly. To throw a bone, I mostly disagree with your views but admire your ability to show your side of the argument. That makes me respect your views, which is rare.

?

Life has taught me to realise my views will differ to many, and I am comfortable with this because quite frankly - life and everything it includes has many facets.
There is no one shoe fits all, and it is interesting to see diversity and reactions to things, as often the written text can be interpreted many ways, and can lead us to a completely mute end if we are not careful.

Happy days ?

Top job, how does canola hay test compared to alfalfa?
