Why do you mow early mornings? I know that this year is different to most with the heat but I prefer to mow later in the day when the grass is dry as it can be - as long as I am not baling then.

Mowing in grade 1 listed parkland this morning views are amazing but the horse fly's are next level

Like to mow silage once the sugars risen later in the day but nothing better mowing hay in the cool of the early morning

It's a job that can be done when others can't.
If its for silage it would be preferable in the late afternoon but can't always be that way.

Yes .... but never had a cow refuse a bale cos it was mowed in the morning!

Looks like the same tedder FIL has here.
Once folded up, do you have to turn the end rotors so the tines face inwards?

Yeah, seems ok to me, done a better job than the class the contractors use.

I done a bit of tedding with the one here last year, nice machine, good size, soon get through the acres with it.
First tractoring I had done in nearly 30 years, but in a JD 2140 SG2 cabbed tractor, one from the era when I was doing it for a living after I left school.

Just done the second pass on 80 acres, pretty easy to use even for a stockman like me, baling tomorrow afternoon after shearing 120 ewes that will be more problematic.

The tedder is starting to struggle. Right hand rotor kept slowing down.
