It will be winter hill I can see at the moment, I think @Gator is a bit further up country so will be looking down to Bolton. I’m looking across to the east at it.
We did have smoke from sadlelworth moor blowing across us the day before which is good few miles away, it was like a haze all afternoon!
Not had any smoke the winds just in the right direction, which make a change:whistle:

Another glorious week in this pleasant and peaceful land of ours. The sun is shining, the skies are blue and if I hear one more person tell me it’s too hot I will scream. That said, I am sure a little water will not go amiss, so long as it is for a few hours between midnight and 4 am!!

Works at Chipping Campden have been going on at a blistering pace, the sub-base is down, drains and manholes in, railway sleeper to be used a parking bay markers arrived yesterday, at this rate the lads will be finished ahead of schedule. Just as well really as the week after next we start on a site in Lydney where it will be all hands on deck!

The lads have finished at Cheltenham racecourse. A happy Groundsman who can now go on holiday safe in the knowledge that all the work is done and after a bit of watering you will never know we have been there.

Our oldest and youngest have been carrying out culvert and drainage repairs at a farm near Stratford. The existing drains and culvert were damaged after the installation of a new utility pipe. The farmer was so glad to get the go-ahead for the works to be done he could not wait to get the crop off and wanted to take full advantage of the good weather.

We carried out another drain survey on a very old house near Stratford; the lads lifted a manhole cover to find a very deep well, still with its pumping gear in. Not sure how long it was since it was last used but we are guessing that it is the original water source from the 17th Century when the first part of the house was built. Our job does get interesting some days!

Another fabulous week chaps, thank you all once again for your graft in this weather, it is muchly appreciated. Have a brilliant weekend, mind the sun and if you are at a loose end Saturday don’t forget it’s the last night of the Shipston Proms!!
