Because 7980 bale capacity isn't enough..... Extention to this shed will give me another 500 bales virtually fully undercover. Shredded on 3 sides with open end into existing shed. Should limit bleaching of valuable Lucerne. And besides, it's mandatory for me to do some form of shed erection/extention at least every 2 years.....And it's not like I have anything better to do
Old man always told me, "make what you can of your lot before your 40 as it gets harder after that" . Well . Here I am about to tick over 51 and I don't see slowing down as an option for another 10.....

What a glorious week 😊 The sun has been shining, today is the allegedly going to be the hottest day of the year so far, the lads have been busy and everyone seems jolly, well except Dilly-Bob.

The “damaged sewer” we looked at last week at Stratford Racecourse turned out to be nothing more than a blockage, admittedly it was a rather chock-a-block blockage but we got it cleared in time for the racing this week, much to the delight of the course.

The grass chasing for our neighbours seemed to go from a quick trim to a full on tidy up. Bunds, verges, main grass areas, if it was green and grassy it got mowed, been a cracking week for it and we managed to get it all finished yesterday.

Paul has been out drilling game covers for a local estate. A bit late we know but all being well it should be fine.

Cool Hand Luke, Boss Man Chris and King Kev started the installation of a new sewage treatment plant on Monday. This was for the replacement of a dilapidated unit that was just about hanging on. All was going well until they took the top off the soil and found brick and concrete. Having tried to dig through it we found that it was a lot deeper than anticipated so we moved over a wee bit and the plant went with no problems. Luke and Kev had already got the outfall pipework in for this job so that made things easier and there was enough natural fall so we did not have to worry too much about that either. We imported some topsoil whilst on site to help tidy the garden, just the finishing touches today and all should be good.

With the mercury rising Dilly-Bob is becoming grumpier. I am not sure if it’s the heat getting to him or the fact that it melts his chocolate biscuits! He is not a lover of warm weather, but then that is understandable especially if you have the same molecular insulating properties as a walrus!

Been a great week lads, thank you all for the hard work and laughs along the way. Have a dam fine weekend and we will see you all Monday for another go. ‘Till then, stay safe and stay smiley.

Grain trailer in the workshop for pre harvest check, also fitted some reversing lights and a rear view camera to make things a bit easier
