What are you going to do with the bales? I tried using rushes for bedding but it didn't take up any moisture, useless. I you have a big enough freestall and there is some grass in it things might be different I suppose.
I’ve used it for bedding for several years, get on well with it. There’s a fair bit of grass amongst it in places and the cattle seem to like picking through it. Needs composting well though.

I’m fine, thanks for asking! Combine broken down but repairs underway.

Very glad I don’t grow linseed in anything other than cover crop mixtures. Yours and my good will are directed at @Two Tone though…

Sounds like you’re having a frustrating time of it too. Is it major?

Not much worse than a combine being broken down, during a rare dry spell, in a dodgy season, approaching a bank holiday weekend!

i think you can run with out it neighbour had the net mechanism wired to the side lights for a season . i can ask how if you need to get going ?
Thank you that would be very helpful, Im not going to do any more straw but I have 8 acres of red clover I’d like to bale as I can’t bring myself to open the gate for the lambs to tread it in at the moment.
