Decided to escape the misery at home and take some calves in to the first sale of the year. Took the calf bedding staff with me to show them how attention to detail pays off
Last year's first sale of the year was a cracking trade (I got top price Blue bull), so I chanced that this year would be too.
Everything seemed to be on fire No top prices for me, but 3 Blue heifers, a Simmy heifer and 2 Simmy bulls averaged £359. Can't complain

Moved a small grain bin over the weekend after its temporary home was in danger of becoming permanent.

Thank heavens for a long set of pallet forks, just a shame the doorway was a bit too low on the shed I was moving it to. Added a fair bit more time than I’d hoped.

Just need to tidy the rest of the shed up now

Decided to just scrape off the topsoil/mud 2 buckets width. Then I can come back and dig a drain into the clay with a smaller bucket. Should stop the sides falling in, I hope! Unless it drys up significantly in the next couple of weeks, it’ll be fun putting the stone in
