Collected the new to us Beet drill today ,ridged 12 row Monosem not the most desirable drill out there but the right money in very good condition. We have never grown beet before so we have some serious learning to do do but I have some very knowledgeable friends. Big combi back on the RX today drilled a couple of ex cabbage fields that were underwater a month ago and an ex Beet field that we ploughed for a neighbour in December in appalling conditions, surprised by how much frost mould there is it’s a bit lumpy behind the tracks but going reasonably well . The last 2 pics are the same field .

Looking at my map, Herefordshire is not that far away, I am sure that it is because @Hfd Cattle just hasn't got around to it yet.

He won't mind, he already has that field booked into his GPS for later attention and appreciates the flailing of the old rubbish so that it has time to disappear.

10 acres is ok. The top 2 would be better grazed. Another contractor chain harrowed it last year but didn’t mow it as agreed.They are supposed to be coming back to finish some fencing, but I don’t think they will. The materials are there and they are good payers. I‘ve given contact details for someone else to try. Seems a waste of energy paying me to mulch it. That’s the second time I’ve done it now. The positive side is it gives me chance to demolish the rabbit habitat next to my field.

No so easy to ferret when a 4’ hedge of brambles is hiding said hotel. Buzzards can have their fill now I’ve opened it up.

Hospital today for a check up, this is my knee today, nicely healed. I can now weight bare and start to walk again, still a while off fencing until I get some muscle built however I can get hedgecutting this next week!
