I helped out a couple of days on a building site to dig out concrete piles. The tall crane is a Junttan pile whacker, the piles in the front are 23.5 meter. The area is leveled to what is wanted for most of the area but the more load bearing areas need digging deeper to allow for more concrete. It can't be done beforehand as the piledriver has to travel over everything.
The heads are nipped off to expose the steel and sometimes another round of digging is needed as the nipper has to travel there aswell.
not to bad a job really, better then leveling out big areas.

Some more of the site. The piles here are a few meter shorter.

We supply a packer who packs them for supermarkets. Originally everything was in 10 stems to a bunch some of our heavier varieties still are. Then we put them in 20s so the supermarket could sell at £1 a bunch but has steadily dropped to those in the pic being in 16s for £1. Just like the changing size of a mars bar. Piece work yes so what they earn varies enormously the good ones at a guess would take home after the gang masters cut £250. Could be more I don’t know some will be on minimum wage.

I presume he'll be paying you to graze it then take a crop of bales in the summer :)
