Dust to mud in 15 minutes courtesy of 16 mm rain.

We work hard on ours however where I was combining for a neighbour I’ve cut wheat three times in a year on that field it’s not in good shape.

I’m no expert but started putting up some clipex for the first time. Not pushed in many clipex posts yet but have to say clipping the wire in in seconds is fantastic. No banging hundreds of staples in.

Have stup 250m of wire today which included 4 90degree turns.

Beneath those sods and about 8” under that water and running sand is a 4 foot length of perforated twin wall wrapped in hessian. It’s replacing 4 blown out/collapsed clay tile taking all the water from 12 acres to the outfall and beck 6m down stream. All we could do is scoop the water and sand out with the digger then put the replacement pipe in under water by feel. The water has been flowing free across the bottom of the hole sucking running sand away like a Venturi. I really hope it works.

And while I was fencing and lambing electrician put up some led batten lights in a shed. Bloody lovely amount of light there now.

Only £23 quid a light from screwfix but ip65 rated.

Very interesting day at work looking at a couple of business opportunities. Commercially privileged but I was invited around various other elements of the business and took some photos

Plenty going on and to look at

Photos over next couple of posts include new 120 t / hr intake pit and kit, 3" computerised water pump for bowser / SP sprayer, 3 combines plus chaser bins and trucks

Very smart and professional office (low key but smart) and all the facilities

Back on weed cutting today , these dykes were missed last year and the amount of trash in them is huge they will now go on the ever growing

weed cut every year list .

They’re £1 a bunch of 16 (now corrected) stems in the supermarket shops here.

How can anyone make a profit from that? How much are the supermarkets taking?

A bunch of 5 or 6 flowers (no idea what similar to daffs but red) cost £3 yesterday at a supermarket, I suppose they would be more at a florist.
