Took the kids to Young Farmers. Bagging muck up for the muck haul on Saturday. I knew I should have dumped and run, but I foolishly stayed to give them a hand.

400 bags later, we're just about knackered 🫣😴
You need a tall bucket with the bottom cut out - one of those antifreeze containers or something.

Put bucket in bag, fill with muck lift bucket, bag is full.

You could do all of that on your own then and not employ children after hours.

Out with the fert spreader this morning, filthy already and only done 3 bags 😳

IMG_6867.jpeg

will be avoiding Mole Valley branded Urea next time I order, every bag seems to be a top link tester when it lumps out 🙈

Won’t come out of the bag and then so much dust in it it struggles to flow, have to empty out every 3 bags 🙄 was relieved when the wind got up so I could change jobs 😂
Been thinking about going liquid, by the time I’ve got through 47 bags of this, the fert spreader might be for sale 🫣

We have some mole valley urea this year and it really good quality, it doesn’t look like that at all does have the inhibitors added though . It’s the most even size granular product we have ever spread .

Dragged these out of the nettles this morning, we still have one ex cabbage field that is in a mess and we need to level the ruts before it’s ploughed. We have tried several different tined cultivators and all have failed so today I had a really good idea that a set of discs would do the job . A quick call to a friend to see if he still had his discs and could we hire them and we were good to go ………………. For about 30M ….. not my best idea 8rx almost got stuck and discs took a lot of digging out and washing. 🙈🙈

Good effort !
Wasn't just us! There we're around 20 young farmers, and as it was at a farm round the corner from ours, I thought it not worth going home before I'd be back again. The old girl got to sweating 🫣
As of last night there were 340 bags, 150 barrowloads and 5 (I think) trailer loads ordered for Saturday. They're going to be busy 🙂

Years ago we were discing on the alluvial soils on the Holkham marshes (now a nature reserve) when it got really wet. We ended up with a big ball of mud with a drawbar on it.
