Big fuss on local radio yesterday about some farmer down south has packed up farming and donated all his sheep to the an 'animal sanctuary ' near Kidderminster. Says he felt very uneasy taking lambs to slaughter and decided enough was enough and he has now turned vegan.
Turned out his entire flock was 20 sheep ! Unfortunately BBC Hereford and. Worcester gave him huge cover age and airtime ! Imagine the phone in response .... I guess it was very bias as it was mostly veggies rang in .

What’s the guess he was already vegan...

Had enough of all this vegan crap! The human race have been meat eaters for millions of years. Back then it was probably the only food avilable. And 00000.1% of the planets vegan population (or however percentage of them are) is not going to change that in the next couple of years, It would have to take thousands of years to evolve out of meat completely. So i would not worry at all about it! Its just a fad(y)

They must have been some bloody sheep. According to the BBC news website, 20 of them were worth £9000!

I saw the report on local telly. They're standard Suffolk or Suffolk x hogs, and looked well farmed. Presuming they're wethers, but the report said male and didn't explain further.

Wouldn't make £9000 for the 20, unless entires and they've fabulous pedigrees. Would've thought the reporter would have highlighted something like that, though.

It's actually important for the gut. Everybody needs fibre, otherwise you'd either be constipated or constantly have loose poops. We all need some roughage in our diet.

Edit: straw and hay don't count btw, we are not animals ;)

There's another joke in that there edit, there, but I don't eat enough pepperami to crack it properly ;)

Completely agree about fibre in the human diet. Oats are a fantastic food.

Watched part of a kids movie with a plot a lot like this the other day with my son. It's called "bee movie"

Subtitled: Anthropomorphism.

Like that nice Mr Æsop's Fables from umpty years ago.

How many of these activists struggle with metaphor, simile, and tales that happen to substitute animals for humans for teaching purposes?

no deer rabbits rats or mice shot or trapped to protect the wheat

I could no guarantee that wheat on my farm is produced with out controlling the above
I would expect that practically all food that claims to be vegan has been produced at the expense of many creatures. You don’t grow carrots without controlling the rabbits for example.
Even worse in other countries, palm oil production has resulted in vast areas of rainforest destruction.
