Tom Bradshaw's NFU President Hustings speech shows he doesn't understand the problem

He didn't once mention the farmer's supply chain, that all the risk is placed on farmers, without any compensation. He seems to think the NFU is solely an arm of DEFRA!

Fuelled by this sort of thing and ongoing, quite simply the NFU will lose members at a progressive ever increasing snowballing rate and once those members have left they will be reluctant to go back unless for one substantial reductions are made and proper easy and straightforward voting democracy happens from the 'bottom' up.

Trouble is when people have got out of the habit of something it takes a major thing to get them back.
same as habit keeps members on like atm.

It is very awkward for members of NFU Cymru who, I believe, get excellent representation at the Welsh political level. They are far more effective than FUW who seem to be noticeably quiet for some reason.
Makes it a quandary for me as I wish to support the NFU in Cardiff but am loathe to support the NFU per se who have sold their soul to the corporate pound

Perhaps we should all join NFU Cymru ?

I don't believe any of NFU Cymru have condemned the GFC with Red Tractor have they? So they are supporters of it and all that it entails with the WWF basket (including reducing livestock numbers)

I don't know so I cannot comment directly (gave up attending meetings when they wanted me as chairman) but they are fighting tooth & nail to get a workable SFI here and tried their best to get the ridiculous all Wales NVZ overturned winning a small concession with the 250 limit

For someone only a member for a month to start into all this recycling of talking points already found in abundance on this forum I can only conclude you are a provocateur, possibly of malicious intent @Panicnow

Nothing you have said is new and all of it can be drew from here using software, indeed everything you write strikes me more of a bot than a farmer as you claim.

My unique contribution is to set a date for action. (Good Friday 2024) ! and Yes, I do wish to provoke, provoke ACTION!!!!!

The fact that all this has been discussed "in abundance" but no action taken pretty-much proves that action is needed. Keyboard warriors are useless.

...Now if there is no mass farmer action, then I guess, my best action is to sell the farm and buy Bitcoin. 'cos I'm fed up ploughing £5 notes into the ground!

But what they fight for will be undermined by the GFC so I would have thought it would be pretty fundamental

Come out from behind the panicking then, tell us who you are.
The well dressed chap in your avatar could be anyone.
It's always suspicious when a very new member magically appears from nowhere & starts a thread like this

It’s all very odd really. And I get more confused every day.
Are we really going to protest about enviro payments of £240 an acre?
We moan about RT and GFC but ultimately we aren’t forced to join either especially now we have high paying enviro options down here on lowland mixed farms anyway.
I’m with @delilah on this?
What exactly is it that people want?
We’ve still got a £3bn slush fund for landowners. Ain’t that enough?🤣
