Tool chest for pickup

Boxes, tool trays and chests of every possible size and combination are huge with tradies for their utes in oz...sorry not much use in Morayshire but perhaps an export/import op for someone.

Would a decent tool chest clamped in the back not be better than a fancy made thing [emoji848] then you can just lift it out and put in workshop if needed, most fitters just have a big tool chest fitted in their vans

Just get a decent size toolbox on tractor.

If you are manager running about looking after minions, one on pickup or in van would be an option.

Or of its that bad take it back to workshop.

I always find if I take tools with me on tractor I end up needing them. If I leave them at home I don't need them

We have just this week made a custom tool chest for the front of an Isuzu king cab. I am fitting it tomorrow for the customer but will take some photos for you. I've attached a CAD image to show it's rough size / shape etc. It's an ali box designed to be lifted in and out easily enough. Top opening with gas struts, internal is open, but we can do dividers if you prefer. We also do boxes for the bulkhead of Ifor Williams trailers and these have dividers which are removable. Sometimes helps you split the load and keep things in a bit more of an order.

If you're interested in a price, PM me with make of truck and I'll put something together for you.

Cheers, Toby

Needs to be something that fits along the side really so I don't have to climb in the back and crawl in as it's got a canopy. For a 2016 ranger

Could certainly do a custom side mount box, you probably want trays rather than top opening so you don't have to get over the top of it to get tools etc. The other option which we are working on at the minute is a heavy weight pull out drawer. This would allow you to mount it facing the side of the truck, pull the drawer out and have standing access to the tool box. This is the current version we do, but it's not heavy weight enough for a tool chest, it can only take 70 kg's fully extended at the end.

We are working on a version that pulls out the full bed length and can take a weight of 500 kg's at the end but this won't be ready for a few months yet.

Obviously it all depends on what you want to spend, we can do anything totally custom, but if our standard product range fits with what you need that'll be more cost effective.

Out of interest what ballpark was the box for the extra cab Isuzu? Got a mate who's on the lookout for one

The box was around a grand, but fully custom to the vehicle (fitted with ladder rack and liner also so had to work around this).
