Sorry another rubbish thread from me. Neighbour wants a couple 3/4 ton trailer loads of top soil we have in a heap (we will use it eventually). Wondering what the value of top soil is per ton?? Anyone know ?

I agree! Just didn’t have a clue what the value is. Our deal is top soil for home made cake currentlyI may get shot down here but 8 tonne of topsoil to a good neighbour isn’t worth charging for.
There’s a bit of give and take with my neighbours. But I think we all like to keep a track of what each of us has had/borrowed just to keep things fair!Tricky if he’s good a bottle of whiskey if not that’s 8T less to cover a knowe so would think hard about letting it go. Amazing what folk ask farmers for them report you for nonesense!!

Bulk "As dug" is not worth a lot. So go for the home made cake swop
To get good money for top soil it needs to be screened & put in 1 tonne bags
£10-20 pt ,depends on quality, local quarry has few 1000 tn of (back fill soil),utilities lads use it for trench fill ,Ive used it to build up ground for turfing£20/tonne if you were to buy it in. @Lincs Lass will probably know better than me as I may be out of date.

In all honesty it was dug from the worst wet field on the farm. It’s topsoil we took off that we built the parlour on. a horrible wet paddock. Had to dig 20 foot down! Built back up with 30000 ton of rock from the quarry we luckily have on the farmSuppose depends where it was dug from
