towing 4000g tanker on road

What size tractor would be safe towing a 4000g slurry tanker on road work only?
Would my mf 7618 cope? I'm thinking it should but looking second opinions

Your looking at 18 ton of slurry, plus whatever the tanker weighs, Say 4-5 ton. So at a guess 22- 23ish ton on the hook Would be OK on the flat with a careful operator but not sure it would be legal.

Wasn't the weight limit increased to 32t ish? Or do you mean the weight of tanker plus load?

I think 2400 gallons is nearer legal as I am fairly sure 2500 gallons is over legal limit or it was.

From 9 March 2015 an agricultural tractor towing an agricultural trailer will be able to travel at a higher combination weight limit of 31 tonnes (t), increasing from 24.39t. The existing trailer limit of 18.29t remains in place.

I'm towing a Keenan mixer fully loaded on road that weighs 23ton when loaded with a jd 6900 she definitely struggles on hills but the 6480 seems to pull it alot better so I think you should be OK but depends what uk laws are

When did it go to 32T, not that it matters your almost in the South, just for curiosity ............

Basically we can still only tow just over 18 t gross legally but can now do it with a decent size tractor on the front.

Don't want to say too much tbh but wagon not an option and tanker wouldn't be going into fields
