can't see a trailer...but you see their mobile races on ebay:scratchhead:....i don't have a dog so races arn't ideal....at moment i put small fence runs parallel to border fences and pen up in there....the idea of parking a small trailer at one end then driving groups onto the trailer appeals;)......i've a 12 ft bateson cattle trailer and seeing their products perhaps i really only need a clipping gate conversion to it:)

, I bought a 12’ ‘single height’ one and it towed very much easier. If you only ever take 1 deck of sheep, then it would be just the job.

Neilo, how do you find washing out the 4ft high trailer ? Started back looking for trailers again here, not much weight difference between them, the 12 ft single height is actually 50kg lighter then the 8ft full height with her decks fitted. Wondering does the height make much difference to the wind drag, my car is a family saloon , so low down.

Without access to a fella willing to wash it out sitting on a chair:D, or a small child that you can put to work, it’s a case of stooping while you wash it out. If you do it when there’s wet muck in though, you can do most of it from outside IME.

As for towing, the extra wind drag from a full height trailer is quite dramatic compared to a single height one.

+1

It's a good habit to get into. We wash our trailer out every time it's used, when still wet. Quick and easy job (y)

If you bought a caravan or horsebox to tow behind a car you'd expect some attempt at an aerodynamic front, but not on a stock trailer. Do the manufacturers think no one tows a stock trailer for more than a few miles ?
Those drop down fronts really help and nobody says you have to drive more than 40mph either

Im looking for a 8x5 cage sided, twin axle trailer ,so i dont have to drag the big trailer for a few sheep to market , I like the cage sides as you can stand up in the back to do jobs , but low enough to stop wind drag , will need a tarp on top for on the road though , i have a 12 x 6 ifor , the same we take main lot around in and it works well , benefit is you can take sides off and use for all sorts of other things .

Ive just been pricing up similar to move quad on the raid, ride on mower, and small numbers of sheep.

So far only the ifor GD series but seem decent value for money.

Indespension seem a lot more money so far.

Your right. I’ve often thought that as well. They make a lot more effort with the dynamics of other trailers.

Fibreglass is available but always looks very vulnerable

Drop down fronts were very successful and simple with the Irish trailers to start with

The thing is the fiberglass cones are an expensive optional extra and ifor resisted introducing the flap for years. Aero Dynamics seem to lag behind in livestock trailers.

That's what I have for short runs with rams etc. Had 8x5 trailer for years for lugging different things around and came with caged sides, got local cover fella who runs a marque business to make me a cover with vents and back piece that rolls up and clips at top. Its mad how many fellas you find looking at it when its on the trailer.....
