Towing weight question (sorry)

Hi guys

My car has a towing rating of 2 tonne, I have a 12ft Ifor flatbed in the shed that used to be pulled by my D-max no issues.

A few questions

1) Will my car be able to tow the trailer?
2) realistically will I be able to tow much with it? I.e my Fergie TE20
3) What size stock trailer could I tow with it and how many sheep? (Approx)

Thanks

We cant pull a double axle trailer with a 2wd vehicle (car or the like) and a single axle trailer is limited to 750kg as far as I know?
Nothing's easy ..........

Am afraid you are way off with your info there.
The number of axles Is irrelevant (with the highly unusual exception of the newest L200 stating it requires a 3 axle trailer to be allowed 3.5 ton trailer weight.)
You are confused with the UK max allowable UNBRAKED trailer being 750kg.
The figures that matter are that you don't exceed your vehicles max towing capacity, and that you also dont don't exceed your trailers max design weight.

No, that was successfully challenged in court by ifor williams. What matters is your towing vehicles plated towing capacity.

Is that right. I have a customer that tows 3500kg plated horse trailer with a freelander but only put one horse in. So if they are under the max weight allowed by the tow vehicle they are ok? Seems to be uncertain.

Yes. Got it in one.
Nothing uncertain about it.
As long as you are under both the vehicles max towing capacity, and also under the trailers max capacity you are ok
You are not penalised for towing an overspecified trailer.
