https://www.murraymachinery.com/products/gravel-road-grader there a video on u tube some where of it working
When your tearing into something that the only thing that could do it justice would be a crusher / road reclaimer followed by a vibrating roller.I'd be more impressed with these shiny toys if they were ever shown working on the sort of tracks I have, which aren't made of nice uniform aggregates as in the videos, but comprise old lumps of concrete, bricks, chunks of tarmac, big stones etc etc all mixed up with smaller material. If they can do a job on that I'd buy one.......................
there is the perfect machine for that job bar the whole fitting a tractor bit...360 8-13 ton kinda mark
We've got a 13t 360 and its no good for this.
How? Drag the teeth though it, put a grade on the road then get a vibrating roller to put it together? Done many o mile like that at work with the diggers
The road is on a slope so naturally the water runs off the lower side into a field and subsequently into the field drainage. When we've repaired it with a 360 we struggle to maintain that natural slope which then means it pools water. We've even tried it with a proper seasoned operator on it who only drives 360's and again it lasts for a while but then ends up a mess. Our thinking is if its a tractor operated machine we will just routinely do it probably once a month as it will be far quicker than a 360. The track length is 700 metres and gets high volumes of traffic on it, circa 5000 movements per year. Looking at all these videos above it looks a much quicker job with this kind of system and because once we've done it, it will then get done routinely it should be a quicker job. I am liking the Murray machine the most to be honest as I think there would be scope to rent that out to recoup the investment. Has anybody on here got one?
