Rollbar won't stop something falling off loader and hitting the driver tho
When has that ever happened?

When using the loader on a tractor with a cab, do you often have thing rolling out of the bucket an hitting the windscreen? If you do, you shouldn't be driving the tractor in the first place.

You dont have to fill the bucket right up

and by rights, you should have checked the load was secure before lifting

did something fall off a non cabbed front loader and hit you then

if so, it may explain a few things
The OP has said he doesn't know anything about tractors so he may not know that. Nothing has happened me but accidents do happen, as your parents must be well aware of.

Happened to me 25 years ago. Fortunately the sanderson teleporter had a cab so the only damage was broken glass.

Folks can say what they like, but anyone who has had it happen to them knows it isn't funny. Old fella knew a chap who had similar happen with a cabless tractor. I wasn't hurt the cab saved me. He never walked again.

Morning all.

I bought a small holding last year, just over 15 acres of mainly pasture land. Currently got a couple of horses, 3 pigs and a handful of sheep on the land.

Last year i managed to borrow some friends equipment (flail etc) to keep the ungrazed areas in order, but I'm now looking at buying a compact tractor.

A local farmer bailed one of the fields as hay, and that should happen again this year - problem is they are the big round bails which trying to move around by hand and roll, whilst a good workout, isn't all that much fun.

So i need something that will pull the flail / topper along, and a front loader that i can move the bails about the smallholding. In the coming years i'd be looking at getting a rotavator, and back hoe for it too.

I've been doing some reading and from what i can see I'm best of staying clear of the cheaper chinese made ones - Siromer / LandLegend etc....i've seen a Solis tractor, which i believe is Indian made. A guy not to far from me sells these along with the cheaper chinese ones (he told me to not bother with them too).

I can afford the Solis 26, which is a 26HP tractor with a 600KG lift limit. But i have concerns this won't be enough, but the 50HP model is too expensive for me at the moment.

i've looked at cheaper used tractors, including a restored MF 135 with front loader and flail which is coming up at around £12k which i could afford, but i no absolutely nothing about tractors.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Denis
One of these little Kioti's or a nice low hours Kubota (bit more cash) I reckon would be fantastic:

Tbh I'm just getting sick of your personal comments towards me all the time, usually about my age. Only tried to help the OP with some options, but as with every thread your involved in you drag it down. I'm out

Thank f**k for that. Now the rest of us normal people can discuss the finer points of 135s without hassle
