Tractor change time...maybe

After muchos debating over the weekend me and the old man are talking about changing the N111e

We want a bit more power in a semi compact frame so if we go Valtra again there’s a N174 with 3K hours for VERY strong money but that’s what you’d class as a direct modern equivalent to the 111 just more power and a lot more with it, fancy seat and that but from a dealer we’ve no experience with but hear fantastic things about. Second is a 150 Puma, never had anything to do with Case but the dealer we use for the telehandler and grass gear and he’s willing to let the Puma come on demo next week they are absolutely fantastic to deal with.

I’ve no real brand loyalty but I do like my Valtra so I’m open to other suggestions to what folk think will do. I don’t want basic but I want grunt, ideas, thoughts and suggestions please

Take the trial on the puma and see if you like her, thenif the dealer is reliable and you are happy with the dealer and package on offer shake on it. If the deal isn't to your satisfaction keep looking.......................................................................................................but I don't think you won't like the Puma...................................................................

Puma is a good machine, however if you’re used to a smooth ride you’ll find it bouncy and uncomfortable as the suspension is pee poor on them

Puma is a nicely laid out tractor. Plenty of comfort and compact as that size tractor goes. If you get on well with the dealer and they are reliable you’re more than half way there as they are the ones that’ll get you out of sh*t when it does break down.

Take the demo and make up your own mind. How old is it and how many hours?

The Case is demo and the Valtra has 3K

They are a great bunch with the Case and I get on with them well but the Valtra lads I hear nothing but praise for too...so can't be bad really

It depends what you’re used to, I changed a Claas arion with cab & axle suspension for the Puma also with cab & axle suspension and my back has suffered for it.
It’s a shame as I think it’s a great tractor the ride just spoils it for me

The Puma 150 boosts to something ridiculous, like maybe 190hp, so I don't think it will be lacking when power is required and will be reasonably economical when it isn't.
Rated PTO hp is only 125hp or so but take no notice of that. No matter what demand on traction and hydraulic power is, the engine will open out to compensate up to a maximum of 190hp.

Boost to 190hp on the shaft?
No, but it should maintain around 145 at the shaft even when using 45hp to pull itself along. Strange concept this graduated boost business, but its simple enough really. If it didn’t have boost and made 145 at the shaft when static, then used 45hp to pull itself along, then only 100hp would be left for the shaft.
