thinking of building a shed to keep “the baby” in. She is under a tarp at the moment, mainly to keep tree sap and bird droppings off her lovely paintwork. I live in a very exposed area and strong SW and E winds in the winter can make standing difficult. I once found a garden shed, complete with lawnmower in the wheat field behind the house.
Funds being tight, I am thinking of building my own but am worried about wind. Any thoughts on wall construction? I have seen photos of alternating planks on the walls to allow wind to blow through, but wouldn’t mind a bit of workshop space at one end so that might be a tad draughty. Something about 10’ x 20’ or 30’ and high enough not to have to remove the exhaust.
So, concrete base, single course of medium density blocks, wood 2” x 3” screwed to the blocks and a frame on top of that. Pent roof with Stirling board and felt or corrugated tin.
Any advice or tips much appreciated.
