Trailer eye lock

Anyone recommend a lock for trailer eyes (dump and bale trailers etc ) or does nobody bother with them ?

Are they for security or to disable them in the yard if they’re not to be used etc? We made half a dozen out of offcuts of two inch pipe welded to a plate that can be dropped through the ring and a padlock through a hole in the bottom. We only use them as a precaution on trailed appliances that should not be used or ones that work is carried out on.

You could most probably make something along the lines of a shipping container lock box where the padlock would be in a box type affair. Unfortunately nothing will be cordless grinder or oxyacetylene proof but will be a major deterrent.

Perfectly suitable for use on military, Nato tow eyes on military trailers like the Sankey or Penman. Very strong and easily fitted in seconds, & secured with a quality padlock (not supplied). Designed for the padlock to be on the underside, to make it harder to tamper with.
