Trailer socket

Need some help please. Trying to put a new trailer socket on back my 6910. The socket come with code at back to wire but the colours on it isn’t same at all on the actual tractor. Anyone advice? Never needed to wire before so abit stumped. On tractor there is 2 grey, black,green,blue and a pink. The numbers on old socket and new aren’t matching either. Thanks

Watch where you take wires out of and put them in same pin on new socket

Have done that and it’s not worked. Took pic of them before took them out. The old socket to had a wee connection into back plus and the new one has to have wires directly into back of it

Rig up a 12v bulb and socket with a live and earth wire ,,couple of crocodile clips nipped on ,,clip the earth onto something and then go through each wire to determine which does what ,,the one that doesnt light up will be the earth

The colours ever give in the Manuel are different to tractor

But john Deere don't use the standard colour wires, lots of grey if I remember right.

Yea. There is 2 grey wires, blue, green, thicker black one and a purple one

I changed one yesterday but have thrown out the bit of paper that I wrote the wiring diagram on , sorry i can't help.

It’s ok. Lots of ways to see what number does what on the actual socket just don’t know what the wires do

it was the JD way I wrote down not the standard.

From that I'd guess that black is the earth and the 2 greys are sidelights but who knows.

We did one on a NH the other day. There the same wire colours don’t match. So one in the cab working pedals indicators etc and another person with a tester working out what’s what.
