Looking at putting a set of flotations on a trailer.
There’s two options:
560 45 22.5
560 60 22.5
It’s a high sided trailer so over height is important for tipping in old low sheds. The ‘45m version makes the trailer a bit lower. Any negatives between the two sizes please?
The 60 profile will be slightly bigger and easier to pull.
Personally I’d go with the 60s unless they physically won’t fit under the trailer body / mudguards.
The height difference is only 80mm if they both have the same pressure in them.
The 60 as above will roll better and take less pull in the wet.
Also more resistant to pulling off the rims at low pressures as more rubber to flex.
The 60 will also have a greater load rating at a given speed and pressure because there is more rubber and air volume in the tyre.
