Transfer from iPhone to Android

I've had my iPhone stolen in somewhat spectacular fashion. Most photos and it appears all contacts are backed up on I cloud. At this stage I'll likely go back to the Android platform as I've never really been comfortable with an iPhone. What's the easiest way to transfer data from icloud to an Android phone?

Or if when get the new phone set up the email with your apple account then sync contacts.

sh!t I've done it!!!! Now have in my hot little hands a Samsung s6.
Still havn't figured out how to get my contacts from icloud on to it though. I've asked Ms Google, and run through her suggestions but nowt has worked so far. It told me to export contacts as a vcard but I can't find it on my computer.
@beefandsleep how do i set up my new phone with my apple account?
Also I've always had an ipod and itunes, is there itunes for android? Or is there another way to sync my itunes music library with an android device?

Samsung themselves have something they name smartswitch which will apparently port your contacts and tunes over to your new phone.

Smartswitch doesn't work. Tells me there is no content in I cloud, but i can access off my comp.

There are quite a few apps in the store that say they will port over your iTunes.

Steer well clear of the Google play app though. It saves music in its own hidden naming format which prevents you transferring tort music in the future.

I use amazon music for purchases, which are then automatically downloaded to ax SD card. I've about 40gbyte of music.



Have you tried using the samsung smart switch to put it onto a PC, then add it to your phone? They're pretty good at releasing software that works. I'd be surprised if it can't be made to work. Use there a FAQ section that might give a hint if what else to try?

Using Google account (like Gmail, Google Play ) to help transfer data from iphone to android. So make sure you have backed up your iphone. Go to Settings on your iphone and choose "Accounts and Sync" or similar. Enter your GMail account details and enable synchronisation. Your iphone contacts will synchronise Google Contacts .
Then go to your new android. Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add your Gmail account. Then you can sync your Google contacts to android.

Please don't worry, you can export backup data from iCloud to PC, then transfer all data to Android phone with Android file manager tool.

You are right , the transfer tool can help us to transfer data from Android to iPhone , but they are not free ,not completely safe

An almost (now) defunct embedded/mobile handset operating system. It was really quite big in the noughties, but with the rise of IOS and latterly Android it has been wiped out pretty much.

It still gets some use for industrial devices like wireless scanners and courier terminals, but it’s almost unheard of now for consumer stuff.
