Transporting tedder

I need to fetch a eight rotor Kuhn Tedder 40 miles back to home.
I have a 14 foot Ivor Williams flat bed trailer, is this an option,
Or will the trailer turn over on the first roundabout, presuming that it
Will fit on in the first place.

I have seen large tedders transported on trailers so it can be done, they sit on trailer at ninety degrees to the direction of use.
Allthough I must admit they do look top heavy, not sure I’d want to transport one a long distance, allthough dealers obviously deliver them out on lorry’s but I’d be worried a trailer being much lighter could be pulled over.

For 40 miles I’d have no hesitation, I’d fetch it on the tractor.

No problem on trailer
They are not nice to tie down

Strap the wheels down, strap the headstock down, strap the whole frame down, chuck another few straps on just in case and still it will be rocking in your mirrors all the way home!!! Tedders and tine harrows are the worst, the hedgecutters!!!

Just crack on I'd say.
That transport fine.
PM me if you want some tips on strapping it down. I'm not posting on here for all the experts to criticise.

what make of Tedder is that, what sort of a job does it do?

I went with a mate to collect a sprayer last year, I was a bit concerned before going about how to strap it down but it proved relatively straight forward and travelled well for over 200 miles, some of it on some quite twisty roads.

My advice to the OP or indeed anyone moving anything, take plenty of straps, better to have too many than not enough.
