trees and bushes 2019

Has anyone else noticed that trees and bushes seem to have put on a phenonomal amount of growth this spring, every road I go down just lately even those with a margin seem to have growth into the road, and our hedgerows and trees around the farm seem to be having a day of the triffids year

Growing conditions have been ideal ,,wet and warm

Mine have grown well too generally except one bit of blackthorn about 100 m long which is a thick hedge about 8 feet tall and 12 feet wide which is entirely leafless due to that caterpillar infestation - it looks like it is dead at the moment.
