Local church need a small tree coming down and I seem to have won the contract.
Tree has got a phone line running through it. It's easy enough to dismantle it. Just wondered if it was worth contacting bt. Would they see it as their problem? Cable is pulled out of line a fair way

Supprised Bt haven't cut the tree back years ago ,,they were round here just before lockdown cutting everything back that was close to a cable ,,a few folks not happy when they found a bloke in their gardens savaging anything that was higher than 10ft

I keep a few of these for such occasions, it may be easier to disconnect it first, just photograph what's inside the box nip it and reconnect after. Screenshot_20200423-070640.jpg

Saying that I did a cherry tree out side my brothers house last year, dropped it, top-down out of man basket on load all. The cable was well snarled up in it, I wanted to disconnect it first but father "didn't have time for that" supprisingly its stronger than I thought and we dropped it without any damage.

Nearby hedge has been half demolished and the locals been up in arms as some half grown trees are now looking raggedy stumps etc. They all think some developer is involved and should be lynched.
If only they were sharp enough to cast their eyes up and see it was planted under 33,000v cables ?

Our land line and internet 'went down' back in the winter, turned out to be a rubbed line between our private access lane and property.Bt said it was my tree that caused the problem so we're going to charge me the standard £129.00 for repairs as it was not their fault. This prompted me to make a counter claim for backdated wayleave for a large number of poles going on to other properties. Which reminds me I've not heard back about that yet!.
