Trending threads not quite working as it ought to?

When I click on the "trending threads" option in the menu, I'm getting various things which I'm doubtful really are the "trending threads". Does the new software work out what's trending differently for different users? How many threads should be on the list?

On my Windows 10 laptop, using Firefox, I usually get 9 threads in the list. Today it's these:

No doubt they're all fascinating, but some of those threads have had no replies - surely they can't be 'trending' can they?

And then on my mobile device (Fairphone 2, using Android and Chrome), sometimes it gives me a really random selection, and other times it only shows a list of one thread as trending.

Is it just me getting these strange results? It's not a massive issue in the scheme of things, but it's a useful way to browse the forum to see what people are talking about.

Thanks for any help.

Well, it is supposed to be based on the reaction score of the threads from the last 7 days. But that doesn't look right at all.

We will add it to the list of things to look at. Thanks for pointing it out.
