Trimble ez boom onto bateman

as above really

Ez guide 500 and ez boom 2010 onto rb17 2011 model year, anybody done it?

Have been looking at the cabling guide and it appears I may just be able to get a cable and connect into the section control switches that I already have so either would turn it off both would have to be on for on.

Any info would be appreciated

Ez-boom is pretty easy to wire up and I found the documents Trimble gave online had pretty clear instructions. I did a Chaviot first using the original four ball valves and then put on pneumatic valves and went to the full 10 sections a year later.
I got the AMP connectors and pins fro RS components.
I seem to remember with some makes of flow meters you had to multiply the pulse per litre figure by 10 to get it right.

I can lend you the crimper to do the special pins, they cost a fortune to buy.
You're right, I just carefully bodged it with some long nose pliers and the crimping tools you get on cheap wire strippers, it worked well as long as the pins stayed straight

I looked at making the cables as they seem pretty expensive and won't be plug and play.

I'm happy with crimping the connectors as I have done a load of weatherpak and other sorts but I was a little unsure how to set up the sprayer controls and the ez boom.

The Bateman uses pneumatic valves which no doubt are just 12v on off from the section switches, it seems a little heavy handed to just cut the wires and join on the ez boom instead of the switches and also I still need the rate controller to know if the sections are on or off until I get confident enough to get the ez boom to run the rate.

I was wondering if I drove a relay with the ez boom on each section if I could use that to connect and disconnect the wire from the section switch so section switches stay on regardless and then incorporate a manual override switch for each section which just bypasses the relay.

Then I was thinking I needed to make a circuit board with 6 relays and 6 bypass switches and a row of connectors on each side and was beginning to think it sounded like a reasonable project? Surely this is ott?
