Why on earth can't these GPS screens actually put the path where they should be in the headland's.
Made a nice square corner and the fecker went and put a ruddy great wide bend in it.
Pretty pish if you ask me.
Straight lines, no problems, headlands, useless.

It smooths off the corners to match the minimum turn radius set in the box, have you altered that?

No I haven't.
Why, if I drive into a corner and then reverse round to 90 degrees, can't it do that as the path?
I don't think I do anything where I drive round the 90 degree corner.

Not sure on trimble but on jd and nh screens theres a minimum turn radius set so that it won't try and turn to sharply and damage the implement on the back.

On a case afs 700 which I believe is a modified Trimble set up, you can choose between square headland, or curved or continuous headland,, can't remember exactly what it's named. You should have the option somewhere to change from the continuous you have, to square like you want.

I've certainly not found that option on this screen.
I'll look , thanks.

As above, I've only recently found it but it made life a lot easier.

What is you r screen @Badshot ? If it is a cfx 750 yit won't do square corners as it hasn't enough processing powers. I am told that some of the newer Trimble screens will, but not sure which.
Hope that helps. If it's any consolation i find it an @rse also on my cfx 750!!

This always irritates me with our cfx750 box’s, not found a way to improve it yet. When I asked the rep about it he said you’ll have to upgrade to the new screen.

At least they do seem to have done something about it now on some models. I tried talking to trimble reps at shows a couple of times, but they didn't seem to understand what the issue was.

That feature is on the following displays:
AFS Pro 700
IntelliView IV

FM1000
XCN2050
XCN1050

The FM750 doesn’t support it.

I found the option and it looked to work okay with curves on gentler corners and shunt turns into the tighter ones, but then had some trouble with it crashing. I think it was after I selected a different headland swath. The headland boundary of that swath is a bit odd in places due to signal loss under trees when it was recorded, so perhaps that is what caused it to keep crashing. I turned the option off and finished drilling the headland with the old style path.
