Hi Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire landowners
I am looking for local air rifle shooting permission.
Approaching my 60th year, I am planning on going part-time or retiring soon and I am looking for permission on land in Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire (ideally within 30 mile of Alfreton) where I can shoot my .177/.22 air rifle at fixed targets and I don’t mind dispatching a few rats if required. I shoot within the law, safely, always with a backstop and never with anyone within 90 degrees of my shot (whoever or whatever is around, safety comes first), I am also a BASC member and hold insurance; I am experienced around horses and livery yards, I don’t have a dog anymore (but I like behaved ones) - I am not part of any shooting group, I am just an individual looking to shoot responsibly and be out and about without a 90 mile round trip to Staffordshire (that’s where I go now)...What’s in it for you?
I am discreet, honest and trustworthy, I have respect for peoples property, livestock and belongings; in my current job (20 years) I am DBS checked regularly (no criminal record). I am happy to keep an eye on things when you are not around (a type of country-watch); I know rural crime is on the increase with fly-tipping, theft, off-road joy-riders, poachers and other trespassers; isolated land and buildings are often targeted for dumping, I am visual, about wear a go pro, I am alert which is a deterrent and a kind of free security.
I believe in a favour for a favour; so If you have a few workers, I don’t mind brewing some tea; if you are a non-productive land-owner I don’t mind sitting on a mower and can house/pet/land watch when you are out (visible presence); if you are an individual farmer I don’t mind giving the odd hand when you need that extra person at the right moment to fix a fence or wall etc. I also consider myself useful to have around as I have wide knowledge and experience in electrical 12v/24v/240 systems (vehicle and trailer electrics), DIY and metalwork, I have ridden/driven, motorcycles, fork-trucks, cars, vans, lorries, buses, boats and trains although I’ve not piloted an aeroplane. I don’t mind giving an hour here and there to help you out.
