Mmm, the cheapest to most expensive of these type of 'heavy duty' handsets all have just a 1.5m drop test and limited immersion depth and time. That doesn't seem that great to me for all the extra money. The screen soon chipped on my Samsung Xcover, even with an extra cover fitted, but had it 3 yrs now and only cost about £100.(y)

My motorola moto g been going quite a few years now, bought a decent armour case from the states and put on a cheap screen protector.
Has fallen out of my pocket quite a few times on to concrete in the middle of alot of cow sh1t, even a fall down the stairs, spinning end to end and landed on the slate floor at the bottom and so far has come through unscathed !
Just buy a normal phone you like, and get a decent armour case for it.

On my second CAT S41, 1st one survived many impacts, washes in watertroughs, 20ft from cherry picker split the case but went on for 6months after that. Had to be replaced after I left it sitting on Manitou mudguard.... It all worked but screen was unreadable, worked with it for a week before using bank of Scotland mobile insurance.
Would need to be really good to go past a CAT phone, and I'm far too careless now to go back to anything ordinary.

i have samsung Galaxy 6 in an otterbox and it gets dropped often they are very good but wont make a phone waterproof
The cat phones seem good you can i think get them cat branded and non branded ( cheaper) but the only one i know in use had a alot of software glitches especially with bluetooth connectivity to vehicles , after all software upgrades and messing about the user went back to samsung . But other than that it was apparently very good as a phone just not to connect with vehicles.

Err, my iPhone 5 is now 5 yrs old
In an Otter case
Been dropped out of my shirt pocket numerous times, fallen off things & sees a lot of dust etc
Screen still perfect & no damage anywhere . . .

Given the usefulness & features of a smart phone I wouldn't buy a tuff phone, just buy another smartphone & get a good Otter Box or similar cover for it

I have an iPhone 5c and Otterbox case. Survived some serious abuse. I've been known to throw it at wayward heifers.

I have an old iPhone 5c and its survived several dunkings, including a dump bucket of milk and a brief visit to the dirty water tank. I think the newer ones are supposed to be more water resistant too.

Ive got a Cat one, about £75, not broken it but it is a crap phone, no loud speaker, slow if you want to text etc. Sooner it dies the better.
Didn't realise Samsung ware about 100 quid, or would have had one instead:banghead:.
