Good flush of grass last week or three with us. Ewes look very well especially some that I only weaned three weeks ago. No tups in here yet but they will be going in early I go by how the ewes look these days and go a bit early or late to try and hit the sweet spot for them condition wise for tupping can be lambing early March or early April depending on the year. One of my OCD mates can’t comprehend itRams been out 4 days.....40% covered, never had them come on so quick.
Just under 400 ewes.
Bloody hope the weather in second half of Feb is kind!!
I’m sure you say that every year.Rams been out 4 days.....40% covered, never had them come on so quick.

I'd have thought by Nov hopefully anything that was gonna get BT would have had it and you should be fairly safebeing only 35 miles north of the bt epicentre I'm wondering whether to bother with my little lot
last thing I want is sick ewes/lambs come April. ..plus I've plenty else to do
could wait and see i suppose delaying to 1st dec
I don't know, just turn the rams out and leave them to itRams been out 4 days.....40% covered, never had them come on so quick.

Three rams out, two of them doing well. The third one, well who knows he shed the raddle harness on the first few days, finally caught him put it back on and two days later it was off again. Decided I'd go old school with marking keel, gathered him up in the corner of the field, give him a good old rugby tackle had him over the body I had him dead to rights, then he arose like something possessed and I held on as best I could for what seemed the length of the field, he proceeded to kick and trample me a couple of times til i let go and he trotted off casually back to the ewes. Third time I took half a dozen hurdles with me got him penned up with a half dozen ewes to keep him calm, went to take a grab for him and he cleared the hurdles like he was in a steeple chase, still had the wool in my hands . He's a new ram as well so fingers crossed he works.
