TW25 digital dashboard issues

Recently the dashboard on our 1989 tw 25 has been playing up. It operates normally but after a while everything starts flashing. This can be cleared by pressing any of the soft keys on the rhs of the digital display. Also stops with rpm higher than 1500 ish. Anyone experienced this?

Neighbours 8830 does the exact same. One of the screws holding the dash together could have rattles loose which pulls connections apart. Or there could be a wire pulled on one of the connections, he had to re solder it twice. It tells you at tick over it's doing 7000 rpm haha

the connection on the fuel pump failing can cause unusual rpm readings

I pushed some red in line crimps into the pump end crimped wire the other end onto loom and masticked the pump end ones in place been there for 3 yrs so far and working as normal

my fuel gauge keeps showing empty I expect that is wiring as it's ok sometimes

Sorted the erratic rpm thing a few years ago with a new sensor on the injector pump. But the coating on the wires is brittle. Also had a speedo issue, again sorted with a new sensor in the gearbox. Everything flashing on the dash is still an issue.

This is the wire that gives me trouble (note electrical tape bodge).
TW and 8210 may have a different set up though.........
