TX34 feeder chain

Hello.

We have had a link break on our tx 34s feeder chain. Is it a good idea to replace the whole thing or just fix the broken link? I'm told if one breaks you should replace the lot as they might all be won (there is quite a lot of play in the links). And how is the best way to replace the whole chain if I do go down that route? Does the cover come off so I can get to the sprockets?

The other thing is the grain loss indicator doesnt seem to show anything (at least in the really weedy beans). Is there a way to test it? And if not how would I go about replacing the sensor, as the dial works, when you turn the combine on it goes to maximum reading then back to 0 once she starts.

Thanks

James.

I would replace chains and sprockets if there is wear
My loss monitor wouldn't register on my TX 65 even on it's most sensitive setting.

Is this the first break?
I would check all the links and replace any as necessary now and replace the chains in the winter time.
To replace the chains, remove the drive belt along the side remove the guards at the front of the elevator, turn chains by hand till you find the joiners, wind back the tensioner each side, split chains and join new chain onto the old, start removing slats from chain and bolt to new, keep turning and swapping till new chains right round and slats swapped over, join up and re tension

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
