Because when I've used pattern belts they sometimes haven't fit properly. Some belts on my combine are so difficult to fit, it isn't worth the bother of fitting wrong belts and having to do it again.

I use JD filters on my tractors, I know they will be good. How do I know if Framm ones are as good?

I always use the proper parts, but I try to get a discount on them, usually 10 or 15%.

Oh and I do not go in for logos, I hate having swooches, 3 stripes or crocodiles on my clothes. I do sometimes have the "dickie" logo!
Donaldson make the filters for JD
As for belts TAGEX in Germany are good kramp sell them.

I'll tell you what Grumpy, I'll try a pattern belt again and see how I get on.

If it doesn't go well I'll know who to blame!

I've been looking for Tagex belts online with no luck, they are not on the Kramp site as far as I can see.

When I need a belt I ring Eastern Harvesters, speak to Steve and he sends me a belt which arrives the next day. Or I fetch it from Markham Moor. This is easy, where would I get these Tagex ones from and how would I know which ones I need?

Yes they are Optibelt on the Kramp site but they haven't got a very good look up system. I looked at the Claas section as I've got a Mega 350. I'll try my local bearing firm.

Sometimes you can get genuine filters cheaper than others.

I use Pix belts on my combine , there was pdf file on web for every claas combine with the configuration but I can't find it
Haven't worn one out yet and they're 1/3 the price of genuine

Yes the system is a bit crap I have had my deutz fahr belts of kramp and they some times send TAGEX belts.
Yes genuine JD filters some times are cheaper.
Fleet guard filters are very good quality I avoid Vapormatic ones as these always seem poorly made.
Try this firm excellent Baldwin filters and next day delivery:

Thanks Kev, I've used www.inlinefilters.co.uk to get some Mann filters. I bought several for different jobs and they were all made in a different country, the fuel filters were made in Argentina!! Fancy carting them all the way here and I wouldn't have bought Argie stuff any way. The were very nasty to our cousins in the Falklands.

Pulled the posi torque big central spring assembly off. The spring has broken. How difficult is it to get the assembly apart to remove the spring ? It seems that some rivets need drilling out.

For an extra £200 APH do an upgrade kit. Anyone know what this is and is it worth it ?

We supply gates and sanok agri belts for most makes . It's important to fit quality belts manufactured in the eu , as I agree with Qman they can be tricky to fit so the longer between changes the better . We find ours last equally as long as oem belts
