Tyre rim combinations

Hi everyone I could do with some help I have a 7810 with 620/70r42 and I'm hoping to up size to 710/60r42 are my rims too narrow for these larger tyres or will the fit. The same story for the front have 540/65r30 and would like 600/60r30.

Do I have to splash out on larger dishes or?

it will depend on your tyre rim width size if you can go wider. its difficult to gave answer just by photo

As said find the width stamp on the rims or l measure them if you can't, then compare to the data book for the new tyres in question.

I recall that some models of tyre need relatively wider rims for there nominal size than conventional models.

If you could put the new tyres on your present rims, I would suspect that the old rims will pull in the new tyres making them more rounded and not as flat as they need to be in order to increase the tyre footprint.

As well as being wider than the 620 to start with, the 710/60r42 size sounds like a VF tyre. VF tyres often seem to require a slightly wider rim than conventional tyres of the same width, which won't help you.

Depending on the make and model, a 620/70r42 should be on a 20" wide rim while a 710/60r42 should be on a 25" wide rim.
