UK Farming Protest - Start organising...

Farmers worldwide are being squeezed between monopoly suppliers and monopoly buyers. With farmers fragmented, they have to be "price takers".
With worldwide governments content to allow food producers to "go hang", food shortages are becoming ever more commonplace. Be it wheat in Africa, rice in India or fresh veg in the UK. Shortages increase profit margins for supermarkets, as evidenced by the consequences of the wheat crisis due to the invasion of Ukraine.

Mass farmer protests are occurring worldwide India, Poland, Germany, France... and generally they are the only course that seems to effective.

So Here is the call for UK farmers to organise! ( Don't bother with the NFU, they are establishment!) Lets set a target date of Good Friday, 29th March 2024 for farmers to drive their tractors to the local MP's local party office. ( Con, Lab, Lib, SNP, PC or whoever)

And maybe join the British Farmers Union while your at it!

Wheat is always short in Africa . How is driving to your MPs office going to alter that?

The agricultural market is a failed market. Normally governments seek to rectify market failure, But currently they are reinforcing the move to monopolistic behaviour.

First we need the attention of governments, It seems street protest is now the only action that governments take notice of! ( We don't need politicians and governments to listen to us, we need them to ACT!)

Second we need the monopolies to be controlled or at least broken-up (OK Oligarchies to be accurate)

Beware: Picking and trying to fix individual grievances that result from the underlying cause does not fix the problem. And significantly distracts from the cause.

Doing nothing is guaranteed to fail!

I spoke to a German woman the other day who used to be married to a German farmer before moving to England.

She loves everything about England. Especially our good manners.

She knew all about the protests in Germany and the farmers plight, but she said British farmers would never do anything like that. Instead, we would just stand about moaning about it all.

I have to say, I ended up reluctantly agreeing with her.

What are you farming and where? I am a suspicious fellow... You would be surprised at the lengths russia and others are going to to interfere in other countries right now, attempts to mislead, sow doubt and divisions or maybe you wouldn't

Skepticism aside... The doctor and other strikers have specific demands regards work and conditions. What specific actions are you demanding? What are the things that we need government to address that will improve the situation for farmers whilst not greatly harming consumers. Most of the European protests have been triggered by specific policies such as the removal of lower tax diesel for agriculture.

What do we want, retify market failure,
How do we want it, er mmm hmmmm

Why not ask who it’s was who shafted each other for a penny off a dozen eggs to ingratiate themselves with supermarkets and cut their neighbours throat?
We seem to make a virtue of the fact there are two or three big carrot/tomato/lettuce growers left where once you could buy a bag of home grown carrots on the road into our town off the field that tasted like carrots not winey soap. Beggars belief that we hold all the trump cards but throw them down on the table for all to see before the games got started. The beet boys seem to have got it together for once. It’s that kind of solidarity that’s needed.
