Well I have telephoned 4 dealers for a price on a replacement for my Manitou, only one has bothered to reply.Yet at 9 aclock last night I emailed a dealer in Holland ,this morning at 8 am a reply in my inbox with price and confirmation of model. So can’t dealers be bothered with little farmers.

Why are dealers not importing stuff themselves to save customers money,or are they forbidden by current importers.what saving would there be on a 5furrow reversible Kuhn plough for example

this is why we need to buy more abroad, sent a clear message to UK dealers that farmers have a choice..

If you want a price from Germany, France and Italy let me know!
So is it the dealers fault that prices are cheaper abroad?
Who is going to stock spares, do warranty work, and come out on a Sunday to fix it when it goes wrong? Not a dealer from Holland I suspect.

Absolutely not, the manufactures are responsible for price differences from country to country, and responsible for implementing THEIR warranty. Look at it from the other way,,, why should a UK farmer pay the price for a manufacturers pricing structure?

Because they didnt respond to the request from an interested customer. Many (not all) UK dealers believe that due to the lack of competition their customers will buy from them regardless..

The original post was about three uk dealers not even bothered to give a price for a Manitou. But with the power of the intrnet and help from people like Guy, we can all look further afield than expensive Uk.
